First Thursdays: What's hot in Cape Town and Jo'burg

First Thursdays is a public event and free to attend. Cape Town’s central city stays open until 9pm or later on the first Thursday of every month, allowing anyone to explore the city on foot and experience the cultural wealth this city has to offer. There is no tour, schedule, or guided walk; that is up to you.

In Jozi you can check out Rosebank and Braamfontein for cool stops, as well as some fringe areas.

Jozi

We already love spots like the Publik in Bolton Road, and eating at Suzy Saigon in Parkwood. This month, however, we are also heading to see the latest exhibitions at the Goodman Gallery at 163 Jan Smuts Avenue, Parkwood.

Goodman Gallery is one of the most distinguished and longest-standing international contemporary art galleries. Established in Johannesburg in 1966, the gallery works with artists who are at once contemporary, influential and strive to shift perspectives and engender social transformation.

Then head to the ultra slick PUMA Select Courtyard. Go hang out in the PUMA Select Courtyard on First Thursdays. Live music and DJs from 6pm. Space is limited so come early. Register at pumaselect.co.za for free access - Cnr Melle and De Korte Streets, Braamfontein
