What a cannabis pizza tastes like
I never really thought I'd be trying a cannabis pizza during lunch on a workday.
While you might think that you may come back to the office just a little bit giggly, the use of Cannabidiol (CBD) on a Col'Cacchio pizza means the effects of THC are left out of the equation.
The restaurant chain launched its new cannabis pizza range in partnership with local CBD producer africanpure - a company that only came onto the scene last year October, importing their green from Switzerland until the licensing process for farms run smoother in South Africa. They saw a big boost when the South African government removed CBD from schedule 7 - the same as heroin - making it legal for anyone to sell.
Provided the daily dose is 20mg or less per day.
And that's what you'll find on the cannabis pizza range - four sprays of concentrated CBD on the pizza just as it comes out of the oven.
There are two colourful pizzas to choose from - the vegetarian Green Goddess stays true to its name with grilled baby marrow, feta and rocket, while the meatier Not-so-plain Mary Jane is a spicier option with peppadews, mushrooms and chicken.
You'll also be able to add CBD to any other dish for a little extra - perhaps make your salad a little more green.
And even kids can have some.

But what does it taste like?
The smell of the CBD is a little stronger on the veggie version, losing itself to the spicy MJ, but when it comes to taste you will never be able to tell the difference. The only flavours you'll get is the tasty ingredients, which are very nice combinations without the added green spice.
CBD has no THC - the fun ingredient in marijuana - and is only supposed to make you relax just a little more.
Did I feel relaxed though? I don't know - with these kinds of things you never know if it may be a placebo effect induced by the idea of consuming a cannabis product, but I can say my general state of stress felt a little less strained.
So if you're scared of the Big Bad Dagga but want to look cool in front of teenagers, this is your time to shine.
