Micro-itineraries: From dog parks to tasting wine in the very heart of Jozi's Craighall

Have only a few hours in Joburg? Head to the north and see the suburb of Craighall. It's a trendy 'hood that also has nice nature spots to nurture your soul.

Go for a stroll

Delta Park is one of the largest parks in the whole of Johannesburg. And arguably, also one of the prettiest. Walk you dog, go watch other walk their dogs or get lost in the walking trails, the 'sensory trail' and check out the bird watching hides.

From here you also have excellent views of the Jozi skyline.

You can also head to the Braamfontein Spruit, the longest stream in Jozi. It is a quiet nature pocket with roaming horses...

Feeling peckish after all that nature?

Stop by Delta Cafe for drinks and some comfort food. The pizzas are also pretty damn epic. 

Or if you're feeling fancy, head to Shucked Oyster Bar. A definite favourite with Instagrammers for its pink walls and booths, go here to indulge in fresh oysters, flown in from Saldanha.

Wine taste outside the Cape Winelands is possible at Joburg's very first winery. Spend an few hours in the garden at Gerakaris Family Winessituated in the heart of Craighall.
