Unexpected city itineraries: American food in Cape Town
Fried chicken, grits, chicken and waffles and traditional diners, the Mother City seems to have a soft spot for the great 'Merican' cuisine.

This Mother City dive-bar has just revamped its menu, and it's better than ever. From a Spicy Southern Fried Chicken Burger to Chicken and Waffles, eating here is a big, big, big, pleasure.
A modern take on a diner, it serves fresh juices, all day breakfasts, sandwiches, brunch, oysters, dinner and excellent cocktails. Best of all is their cheeseburger with the brioche bun. Heaven for butter and meat lovers. Hell for vegans.
Now much more polished than when it opened a few years ago, it still has an industrial feel and served up monster burgers and delectable American-style pizza.
