WATCH | A golf escape to the heart of the Helderberg
Elegant restaurants, cushy loft rooms and a golf course snuggled in the arms of a mountain - Erinvale Estate Hotel and Spa is a great spot for couples and friends who love to play together.
And they have a new addition to the family - while it did come at the cost of an old on. Its classic Irish Skellings Pub has been replaced by a chic, modernist tapas bar called the Magnolia Social Dining Lounge. It has the most beautiful decor that looks like a lifestyle magazine come to life, and you'll still find a little luck of the Irish on the menu.

Its other restaurants - Seventeen07 and Oak Terrace - are still going strong, surrounded by a gorgeous garden where young ones could disappear into fantasy worlds.

The hotel is also neighbours with the Erinvale Golf Club, surrounded by private residences owned by those who take their golf very seriously. The hotel offers golf packages with their accommodation, a very enticing deal if you feel like dusting off the cobwebs on your clubs.
Even if you're golf game is severely lacking like mine, you'll still be entertained by the beautiful course with mountain views and stubborn geese - even if your ball veers off into the black hole of the surrounding ponds. Even if you think you're saving money by walking, just get the golf cart - your legs will thank you.
Afterwards, your sore muscles can be massaged away by the spa experts back at the hotel, before tucking into a well-deserved dining experience where the calories won't count if you didn't get a golf cart.
