Stellenbosch lodge joins prestigious global hotel offering
Preferred Hotels & Resorts has added South African establishment, De Zalze Lodge in Stellenbosch to its more than 750 hotels, resorts, and residences across 85 countries - making it one of the largest in the world.
In total, some 24 new member hotels have been added to the global portfolio between October 1 – December 31, 2019.
These include experiences in one South Africa's oldest winelands towns to historic retreats in central Mexico, as well as the brand’s first-ever properties in Finland and Brunei.
"This expansion at the end of 2019 represents Preferred’s unwavering commitment to partnering with the finest luxury hotels in every corner of the globe," Preferred Hotels & Resorts detailed in a statement about the Stellenbosch lodge's inclusion.

De Zalze Lodge - Stellenbosch
Located just minutes from Stellenbosch, visitors can head to the historic university town, which goes back more than two centuries. Take in the Cape Dutch architecture on Dorp Street and take some time to enjoy the museums, galleries, and antique stores that line the streets. As one of South Africa's oldest communities, it's like taking a walk through living history.
Other activities to consider include Kleine Zalze Wines and Wine Tasting Centre, Terroir Restaurant, Waterford, Dornier, Ernie Else, and Guardian Peak vineyards, Strand and Gordon's Bay beaches.
Klaus K Hotel - Helsinki, Finland
Located in Helsinki’s historic city center, the 171-room Klaus K Hotel takes its narrative and design cues from the Finnish national epic, The Kalevala and the country's mythological creation story that the world emerged from seven eggs.
