3 Places to explore in your city this weekend: Darling Brew, The Whippet and Khuluma

Need a new weekend chill spot? We just found three, ideal for indulging in your favourite things over the weekend, while sat in a beautiful space filled with vibe.

Cape Town

Opposite the Woodstock Exchange, in the very heart of Woodstock, now sits Darling's most treasured microbrewery brand, Darling Brew.

Brewing a wide variety of beers - including dark beers, lagers, ales, oat ales and pale ales, offering something for every palette - it's a great place to meet up with friends. (I preferred the dark beer and the Blood Serpent Pilsner as it had some lovely spicy flavours.)

Bringing the West Coast to Woodstock, the restaurant offers an exciting food menu - from tapas to meat and cheese boards featuring German sausage like Bratwurst, it also suggest beer (and wine) pairings for each dish.

And beer even makes its way into the desserts!

The Beeramisu is a Tiramisu, but instead of ladyfingers soaked in amaretto, they are drenched in beer. Yum!

A coffee shop inspired by the people of Linden, The Whippet Coffee Company will soon open another shop in Melville. The space offers sublime coffee, dishes with the freshest ingredients and even some design porn as each store's architecture is designed for that particular neighbourhood's aesthetic and vibe.

It has been called 'SA's most Instagrammable coffee shop', and it's very hard to disagree with that. Khuluma on Station can be found inside a refurbished warehouse on Station Drive. It's cool, but calm and offers damn good coffee and sweet treats - perfect spot to spend a Sunday morning.
